Lorcan's traits are affiliated with his mother's, resulting in him sometimes being referred to as the spitting image of her. Some of the inherited oddities include gullibility, tranquility, and ingenuity. His mind is very easily swayed. He believes in all of the magical creatures that his mother had mentioned, especially Nargles. Because of this, Luna passed down the cork necklace to him.

Lorcan Newt Scamander was born on August 4th, precisely 13 minutes after his twin brother Lysander. He was the more eccentric of the family, broadcasting his mother's quirks throughout his years. He was quite the inventive child. His blooming creativity fueled his continuance. He owned more books containing pictures than books containing words. However, fictional stories were definitely cherished.
When Lorcan experienced his first magical encounter, he was sitting under a tree in the backyard of his lovely home located in Ottery St. Catchpole. Whilst reading the latest issue of The Quibbler, being coincidentally upside down, he felt a grumble in his stomach. Lorcan, having been six years young, felt the impatient want for food. He glanced up at the branch above his head to see an apple sprouting from it. Lorcan reached up and picked the apple, proceeding to eat it and nonchalantly continue his reading.
At the age of 11, Lorcan and Lysander attended their first year at Hogwarts. The twins were very close to one another, despite the fact that they were very much the opposites of each other. Lorcan endured a decent amount of ridicule, but this didn't phase him. Other students' petty insults didn't affect him. However, he didn't appreciate the unjustified disrespect.
