Hands shoved in his pockets, the young man adjusted the blue headband he was always found with. He looked over the lawns before a long, heavy sigh. Plopping down in the grass, he laid back, another sigh given. The lovely sun shined down on him, warming him pleasantly in his dark sweater vest and rolled up, button up shirt.
Eyes closed, the ginger wriggled a little before he settled down and took a deep breath. "Oh, yeaaaaaa..." He groaned contently, a smile on his face. "This is nice..."
The warm, the quiet... It just seemed a little weird that this trickster wasn't doing anything, well. Tricky. He was laying out in the sun. Like a cat! Well, what can you say? You can't always be the class clown. Sometimes you need a little break.

At least, that was what Rose thought of the current weather outside. Skipping down through the magical castle, the ginger clutched two books tightly within her hands. She held them against her chest, as if loosing them would be the worst thing imaginable. In her case, it probably would be. Like mother, like daughter, after all.
One of the books was familiar to any Hogwarts student. Home Life and Social Habits of British Muggles, written by Wilhelm Wigworthy. A textbook? Well, of course! Rose had inherited her mother's brains, and her interest in Muggles was only because of her mother's side of the family. The other was less familiar; one that only those who had spent time in the world of those without magical abilities would perhaps know about. The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum was one of her favorite books. Of course, no one knew just how much she enjoyed Muggle culture.
Upon entering the lawn, the ginger-haired Gryffindor did a quick scan of the area to see if the coast was clear. She instantly spotted a mess of hair that matched hers; obviously a Weasley. At that clue alone, she hid away the book written by a Muggle, tucking it inside of her robes and out of sight. She strode over quietly, and spotted the bright blue headband almost instantly. Fred. She never quite understood the headband that he wore, but she figured that it was much like her obsession with Muggles; something no one would really understand.
Sitting down next to him, she looked down at the stretched-out male and smiled.
And what, dear cousin, are you doing? she chuckled lightly, tucking a strand of her long, fiery-red hair behind her ear.

At the sudden voice, the ginger started, quickly looking over at his cousin. Grabbing his chest, the young man let out a heavy grunt, laying back down. "Merlin's pants, Rose! Why don't you warn me next time you're close to me?! You know that I don't listen for when people are close unless I'm pulling a prank!"
The young man gave a laugh, though it faded before glancing over at the girl. "Me? I'm just laying in the sun. Is that against the rules or something?" A smirk was placed on his lips, eyes closing again. "And what, my little Rosie, are you doing out here? Reading another of your Muggle books?" His smirk grew to a smile, one eye opening to peek up at her.
"Now, Rose, don't you try and deny your love for Muggle things. I've seen you sneak around with those books." Yes, he spied on his cousins; it was fun to come up at random times and point out the things they did. The fright that showed on their faces gave the trickster immense pleasure. "Which book is it now? Did Aunt Hermione send it to you, or did you bring it here from break?"

She smiled down at him before crossing her legs, resting the surprisingly thick textbook in her lap.
And what fun would that be, telling you before I approach? It's actually entertaining to watch you freak out a bit. Still smiling, the Gryffindor turned her face down to the textbook and opened it, instantly turning to the page she had bookmarked earlier that day for herself to read.
No, I don't believe that laying in the sun is against the rules, she chuckled, not even glancing up from the book in her lap. Her eyes poured over every sentence, every single word, as if it were a dramatic story being told. She took in as much information she could the first time she read through a page, only to quickly turn it and devour the words that awaited her. When he accused her of reading a Muggle book, her face instantly drained of color. As much as was possible, of course, seeing as how pale she already was. Chuckling nervously, she shrugged.
Well, this textbook is about Muggles, she spoke, skimming around the truth a bit. Of course, she knew that Fred was talking about her other book. The one she had hidden. But if he believed that she was simply reading the textbook for Muggle Studies, then her secret would be safe. For now, at least; Rose knew that her cousin would find out sooner or later. She desperately hoped, for Merlin's sake, that it was later and not sooner.

"True... you really have learned a lot from me, haven't you?" Fred chuckled, adjusting his blue sweatband before stretching. Glancing over to her, the male ginger frowned, rolling to his stomach.
"But I think it's against my rules to read when you haven't even started classes for this year." Fred reached over to try and snatch the book away. "You really are Aunt Hermione's daughter," he muttered to himself.
Now, when he heard Rose's voice falter at the mention of a Muggle book, the boy laughed aloud. "Rosie, I know about your Muggle fascination. I know things about all the cousins that they don't think anyone knows," he chuckled, prodding her side. "Just tell me what this one's about."

We aren't related just for anything. The ginger childishly stuck her tongue out at him, failing to hold back a smirk that formed on her lips.
Well, you say that now, Fred, but I'll be the one you come to when it comes time for testing and homework. She knew that he knew she was right. Rose was truly the daughter of Hermione Weasley when it came to school - study, study, study.
As he poked her side, she squealed. The ginger actually squealed aloud. She was ticklish on her side.
Stop, stop! Okay, I'll tell you! Rose sighed lightly, scooting closer to her playful cousin and lowering her voice.
I told mom and daddy that I was staying at your place for a week, when I was really in London and exploring, she admitted, looking down into her lap sheepishly. You have to keep it a secret though! she added quickly, looking back up at her cousin with wide and alarmed eyes. If word got back to her parents as to where she had really been, who knew what would happen to her?
This book is about a girl from Kansas - that's a state over in another country - who gets whisked away by a tornado and taken to the land of Oz. She has to find the Wizard to get back home, and defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, she explained quickly while taking the book out from behind her robes. She handed it to him so he could look at it before laying back on the grass, closing her eyes and tilting her pale face towards the sky. It's nothing like what real wizards and witches are like, but the Muggle interpretation of our world is simply entertaining and fascinating for some reason.
