PERSONALITY:
Lysander is a dark counterpart to his twin brother Lorcan. He takes to the library a lot, secluding himself from any of the few friends he may have, and preventing him from investing new ones. He keeps a thick barrier between him and the world, causing him to have trouble coping with change. He lets few through his boundaries. He has very apparent trust issues.
Despite his deep lack of trust, Lysander obtained some of his mother's quirks. He takes interest in the farfetched magical creatures Luna has taught him about. Instead of rejecting the idea, since he is a very logic-driven person, he embraced the thought of these fictitious creatures. He would argue to the death to protect the validity of nargles and anything else that's written in The Quibbler. He is very protective of those he loves and what he believes in.

HISTORY:
Lysander Endymion Scamander was born on August 4th, exactly thirteen minutes before his twin brother Lorcan. He was the less eccentric of the family, still conveying some of the minor whimsies his mother illustrated. Lysander was an acute child from the start. He fed off of knowledge like it was essential to his survival. He learned to read before his second birthday. His nose was always buried in a book, whether it be a fantasy novel or an encyclopedia.
Lysander's first magical encounter came when he was sitting in the tranquil Scamander home in Ottery St. Catchpole at age four. He was reading the Sonnets of a Sorcerer by the window. Outside of the window pane was a modest garden, when he noticed a hummingbird flying straight at the window. Fearing the small bird's life, Lysander scowled as it approached, unsure of what to do. The second it should have hit the window, the glass disappeared and the hummingbird flew through and hovered right above the poetry book he was reading.
At age 11, the Scamander twins attended their first year of Hogward School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The two of them were very close, even if they are walking contradictions of eachother. The twins often found their quirks inconvenient, as they were not left alone with them. It started with simple teasing, which led to insults, which led to bullying, which led to physical encounters. Lysander discovered his twin being assaulted, and needless to say, nothing like that has happened since. Lysander is seen as intimidating by many of his classmates, and therefore receives much less of the teasing than his brother. He is sometimes the butt-end of some pranks, but Lorcan still ends up being pranked more often. Lysander is very protective of Lorcan, since he is much less naive than him.
