Have faith in me,
'cause there are things that I've seen I don't believe.
So cling to what you know,
and never let go, you should know
things aren't always what they seem.

PERSONALITY:
Shilo is a bit of a quirky one. Despite being placed in the house of the serpent, she is actually quite friendly towards most. However, she is a bit quick to judge at times, and first impressions are the only impressions, as far as she is concerned. If something about you is missing, she judges you a tad harshly. Because she isn't a Pure blood in a house that favors it, she is always trying to prove herself to the others. She is a quick learner, and does best in Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures. She also enjoys Potions.
Even though she doesn't look it, this short young lady rather enjoys a good Quidditch match. She's not the best player in the world, and would honestly rather watch, but she can still dream of being a Seeker, can't she? After all, she's a huge dreamer. The only question about that - is it a good or bad thing? Shilo is often caught daydreaming in the middle of class, and that's what happens to land her in detention most of the time. Her parents raised her to dream big, after all.
Being a Half-blood, Shilo doesn't judge anyone based on blood status. Although it's an unpopular opinion around Slytherin, she thinks that people should be judged on personality, not family. You can't exactly choose them, after all. She does, however, have anger issues towards lots of things, including judgmental people. Miss Reid would rather do something herself wrong than ask for help and do it right the first time. It's a thing that has to do with her pride, and she has no clue why. She is always seen holding her head high and proud, as if she's better than everyone else. It's just an image, though. She doesn't think that... not all the time, at least.

HISTORY: Shilo had a fairly standard childhood. She was raised as a Muggle, and she had a happily normal Muggle family. Or so it seemed. Her mother was a witch, and she had never told Nathan about her powers or training. Of course, along came their daughter's seventh birthday, and her own powers started to show. Maria could hide it no longer, and admitted to everything. It shocked her husband a bit, of course, but he was relieved and proud of his wife and daughter. Shilo was taught all about her mother's world, and took it all in with great interest.
It wasn't until the train ride to Hogwarts her first year that she was introduced to the term 'Mudblood'. She instantly disliked it, and was determined to prove herself to those who thought lowly of her. When the Sorting Hat placed her in Slytherin, she was a bit shocked at first, because she had been told by the other children that the House was for those who were manipulative and liars. Her mother, who had been a Ravenclaw, had explained that what she had been told was nothing more than a stereotype. The words instantly made her feel better, and she continued on as if the whole period of confusion and shock had been nothing at all.
She took the head of the class in Transfiguration right off the bat during her first year. The girl actually did better in that class than she did in Potions, which was a bit of a surprise. However, she was able to pass well enough in all her other classes, some better than others, and continued on her way over her next five years of Hogwarts. Over the breaks, she would go home to her family, relax on the shore, and send her owl out at night to message her friends from school. Shilo was an average student - she tried her best to stay on Sue Sylvester's good side, and pass all of her classes.
However, there was one thing that she could never figure out. The group of singing students bewildered her at first; what place did a music group have here at Hogwarts? Then again, she loved music, so she simply waited for something to come of it. However, she never acted upon her curiosity of the club, but she did sing to herself in her spare time. It was just the oddness of it all. It confused her deeply.

SAMPLE POST:
Olive enjoyed her job, she honestly did. Working at the book store downtown really helped her raise money she needed to take care of her three-legged puppy. The small canine was always causing trouble and playing tricks, much like the Weasley twins she read of in Harry Potter. And better yet, she was the only real employee besides the owner. She was next to never there, and the teenager was always left alone with books and the owner’s macaw. It was like Heaven for her, except that she had to leave at the end of the day.
The short brunette was currently working on the weekend shift, and no one had come in all day. It didn’t bother her much at all; In fact, she liked it. She could listen and dance and sing to anything she wanted to, and no one would get mad or ask her to change the song. She could actually read all day and not have to pay attention to anyone. It was a wonderful thing for her, seeing as how she could practice the moves she was learning in her Samba classes. So far, she was looking promising at becoming a Samba master. She might be strange, but she could learn the moves and show them off if she wanted or needed to.
She turned up the song that had just started playing from her iPod, flooding over the speakers that her employer kept hung up around the store. A beat came, and then what sounded like a drum line. It was something that sounded like a mix between Latin and a song that would be played in a dance club. She had heard it in a movie she had seen recently, and had immediately bought the soundtrack. This song had to be her favorite. Hot Wings, it was called. Will.I.Am sung it, as he had voiced one of the characters.
Olive began moving along with the beat, dancing along. It wasn’t exactly Samba she was showing, but a mix of Samba and some other dance moves. She wasn’t paying attention any longer, just dancing and listening to the music. There was only one short female part in it, and the words… Well, they weren’t really words. More like Spanish syllables. But she still sang it, right on pitch.
“La yah la yah la yah la yah! Li yah la yah li yah la yah li yah la yah li yah li yah!” She seemed at her happiest. As if, at that moment, she was the most content she had ever been. The macaw bobbed its head and moved on the desk, as if he were also dancing. It wouldn’t surprise Olive; Macaws were highly intelligent.
Still dancing to the song from the animated kid’s movie, she wasn’t paying attention to anything. She didn’t hear the bell ring on the door, signaling someone had come into the shop right as she was singing.
