~ Eddy Smith
Cousins, best friends, bitter rivals. Everything can and will happen in their relationship. While Zach studies for the both of them--and does all their homework--Eddy is off goofing around and Zach hates that Eddy can't take anything seriously. But he helps keep his grades up and tolerates his whimsical ways, much to Eddy's pleasure. They sometimes hate each other--mostly Zach hating Eddy--but they get over it in the end and reconsile. And occasionally, Zach will even loosen up a bit and join Eddy in his activities.
~ Kadie Foster
While Eddy seems determined to deny at every opportunity that Kadie is his girlfriend, Zach knows better and considers them an item (much to Eddy's annoyance). Aside from that, they're pretty good friends, though sometimes she does admittedly talk too much, or her energy will seemingly never die, and he gets frustrated with her--especially when he's trying to study.
~ Victoire Weasley
Being in the same house and year, Zach and Victoire know each other, well enough that he feels comfortable enough calling her his friend.
~ Virgo Malfoy
Zach is honestly utterly baffled by this one. They're friends, but he's not entirely sure how or why. Maybe it was Eddy's doing. Or sleepwalking. Or he just doesn't remember that precise moment as clearly as he remembers everything else. Whatever the case, they're friends, and that's that.
