PERSONALITY:
Benjamin is very much like his father in more ways than one. He's very timid, but underneath all the insecurity and shyness, Ben is one of the bravest and loyal people you could know. He isn't afraid of people at all. In fact, he loves having people around him. He won't take any mistreatment, though. The only person he'll let criticize him is himself.
Kind-hearted, Ben will help anyone who needs it. Sure, he won't dish into their emotional problems and play therapist because that just isn't his area of expertise, but he'll do all that he can for someone who needs his help. To people he isn't good friends with or very close to at all, Ben can seem withdrawn and dull because of his detachment from others. However, once you get to know him, Ben's very lovable and cheerful.
Valuing his independence, Ben may not make the best relationship partner. He's very withdrawn and likes to keep his thoughts to himself, and in relationships, it's almost required to be an open book. As far as books go, Benjamin is a closed one with a lock all around it. He doesn't like talking about his problems, either. He'd much rather silently work it out himself instead of troubling others with his petty drama.

HISTORY:
Benjamin Leroy Longbottom was born into a family of a hero. He's always looked up to his father because of the things he did during the war against the Dark Lord. Of course, Ben loves everyone in his family. He's a very big family guy, and was very close to all of his siblings and to his parents. Neville was an auror for some time, so Ben had to go for days at a time without seeing him, but he made do and just distracted himself. He's still hopelessly clingy to his family members.
Growing up, Ben tried to find something to take interest in. He tried herbology and just couldn't get into it, but he hid that little fact from his father, who had become the Herbology professor at Hogwarts shortly before. He tried art, Muggle Studies, DADA, everything! After a short while, he gave up and helped his mother around the Leaky due to pure boredom. Also, while approaching eleven years of age, Ben was one of the more vivid of kids to show their magical talent. Let's just say there were a few messy incidents in the Leaky when he was ten years old. It wasn't his fault, though! He couldn't control it. Plus, he was clumsy as it was, so his mother sent him back up to their cozy little home above the Leaky most of the time.
When he got his letter (after his brother of course), Hannah took him to Diagon Alley to get all of his supplies. When picking his pet, Ben found something he took interest in. Animals! He absolutely adored them. Instead of getting an owl, he wanted to get a cat, and so he did. It was a cat that he'd taken a fondness with ever since he walked into the shop. He still has it, to this day. Here it is! Over the years at Hogwarts, Ben looked forward to Herbology every day and oddly enough, Potions became one of his favorite classes, also. Since his first year, Ben's been best friends with Darby Wood, James Potter, ----- Finnigan [6th], and ----- McLaggen [7th]. They've made quite a name for themselves, but they don't seem to mind.
